Flap and Graft Closure of Chronic Wounds

Chronic wounds treatment and repair usually require a combined effort from several medical specialties. Reconstructive plastic surgery offers a wide range of skin grafts, suture repair techniques, local and distal rotational flaps and tissue expansion in order to effectively repair these complex wounds. These techniques used in addition to maximizing medical therapy yields excellent long term results.

Complex wounds repaired with these techniques may also benefit from hyperbaric oxygen therapy. The Julian Institute of Plastic Surgery works closely with the Spring Hill Regional wound care center to provide HBO treatments when indicated.
