Laser Resurfacing

Laser resurfacing is a solution for fine to moderate wrinkles, pigmented areas, age spots, and damaged skin. Lasers are concentrated beams of light at different wavelengths that are used to produce a controlled burn. Depending on the type of laser and concentration of the beam of light, different skin depths can be reached. As the deeper depths of skin are approached, more of the damaged skin can be removed and a tightening effect results. As with chemical peels, as the laser goes deeper, more discomfort and recovery is to be expected. Mild lasers are available and are quite tolerable but will require multiple treatments and will have a limited tightening effect. Stronger lasers will tighten the skin better but will require sedation and result in a longer recovery period.
