Meet the Surgeons

Dr. Marc Robert Polecritti, D.O.

The Julian Institute of Plastic Surgery is owned and founded by Double Board Certified, Marc Robert Polecritti, D.O. Dr. Polecritti was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He completed his undergraduate training at the University of Pittsburgh, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. Dr. Polecritti then completed one year of post-graduate work in Exercise Physiology. He went on to attend Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania, and graduated in the top of his class. He was awarded membership to the academic honors society, Psi Sigma Alpha. Dr. Polecritti completed his internship and General Surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center-Horizon where he served as Chief Resident his senior year. He is Board Certified in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as well as in General Surgery.

Dr. Polecritti then completed a two year fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at South Pointe Hospital/Cleveland Clinic Health System. During his time in Cleveland, he served as Chief Resident of the program. As a result of his extensive training, Dr. Polecritti and his staff have the experience and surgical skills to meet and exceed your reconstructive or cosmetic needs.

Dr. Polecritti is currently on staff at Spring Hill Regional, Brooksville Regional, Oak Hill, and Regional Medical Center- Bayonet Point and is covered by all of the major insurance carriers.

In his spare time Dr. Polecritti and his family enjoy scuba diving, jetskiing, boating, and attending sporting events. The Julian Institute of Plastic Surgery is named after Dr. Polecritti’s son Julian. The name Julian means “to be youthful” and since Julian’s birth occurred during the time the practice was being developed, the link seemed fitting.

Dr. Derek C Polecritti, D.O.

Derek C. Polecritti, DO is Board Certified in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Polecritti achieved his undergraduate degree from the Pennsylvania State University with a major in life sciences and minors in psychology and biology. He then went on to the University of Pennsylvania where he performed biomedical research. Using his older brother Marc as inspiration in medicine and finally plastic surgery, he went on to medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating in 2012. Dr. Polecritti then completed four years of general surgery training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center – Horizon Hospital. He then went on Mercy Medical Center – Des Moines, IA where he completed a three year fellowship in Plastic, Reconstructive, and Hand Surgery serving as Chief Fellow his senior year. Dr. Polecritti has contributed to multiple national conferences presenting on Breast Reconstruction and Breast Implant Illness as well as coauthoring a chapter of the text book, Clinics in Facial Plastic Surgery. In his free time, Dr. Polecritti enjoys spending time with his wife, Jennifer, and their girls Pippa and Penelope. Their favorite activity is enjoying the Florida outdoors with their Greyhound, Flash.
