Correct Carpal Tunnel Correct Carpal Tunnel with Less Downtime with This Treatment

Carpal tunnel can be a debilitating condition, especially when left untreated for a long period of time. Many people put off getting treatment for carpal tunnel syndrome because they don’t want to take time off work or not be able to handle daily activities on their own. With this new treatment, you are able to get correction for carpal tunnel without much downtime.

What Causes Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Carpal tunnel syndrome, also known as median neuropathy, is a condition in which the nerve that runs from the brain, down the arm, through the wrist, and into the hand becomes inflamed. If the condition is left untreated, it can also leave scar tissue around the nerve, further making movement of the hand and wrist difficult.

Carpal Tunnel Treatment

The treatment that we offer for carpal tunnel syndrome is a fairly simple procedure that allows for quick return to daily activities. In this treatment, we surgically remove scar tissue surrounding the nerve, and release it from its pinched state. The entire procedure takes about an hour, and is done on an outpatient basis.

What About Downtime?

You will need to wear a wrist brace for about a week after the procedure, but you will be able to use your fingers and the majority of your hand while you are recovering. You can go back to normal daily activities immediately after treatment. You will need to refrain from strenuous activity for about four weeks, so it is important to make accommodations at your place of employment for restricted duties if necessary.
